The Ten Stores Challenge
We’re sad to announce that Ten Stores Challenge has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
We’d like to thank all of our supporters and our incredible partner stores for their enthusiasm, passion and support for Ten Stores Challenge.
If you would still like to support Hope and Homes for Children, you can find lots of events, challenges and information about our work on our website. We hope to see you at a Hope and Homes for Children event in the near future.
If you have any queries regarding the cancellation, please contact Lydia Foord.
How To Raise The Money
To complete the challenge our intrepid walkers must get their race passports stamped at each of the ten stores along the way. Each store will provide an exclusive experience or treat to refresh and revive them along the way.
This is no easy feat – so it’s time for you to dust off those trainers and get ready to dodge the west end traffic, side-step other shoppers and leap up and down the escalators.
By taking part you will be changing the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable children.
The Ten Stores Challenge is a fundraising event and, in addition to an £65 registration fee, we’re encouraging each challenger to raise £500 to support the vital work of international children’s charity Hope and Homes for Children. The money you raise will ensure some of the world’s most vulnerable children can grow up with the love and protection of a family. Here are three ways you can raise the money:
Why not ask friends and family to sponsor your Ten Stores Challenge? You could ask just 10 of your friends to sponsor you £5 per kilometre and you will raise an incredible £500! You can set up a JustGiving page, or Virgin Money Giving page and start raising sponsorship.
You or your group of walkers may choose to organise a fun event to raise your donation. From glittering soirees to swishing parties, the possibilities are endless. We will be on hand to help you every step of the way. Email us to get inspiration for fundraising ideas.
Once you’ve registered, you can donate online via the Hope and Homes for Children website or by post to cover your fundraising. We’ll let you know details of how to do this once your registration is complete.
The Great Fundraising Bake-Off
Hold your very own Bake-Off. Ask your friends, family or colleagues to sample and judge your show-stopping masterpieces and raise money for Hope and Homes for Children
Create your own cinema and hold a film night for your family and friends. Sell popcorn and drinks and charge an entry fee. Theme the night on your favourite type of film!
Put your creative talents to the test and organise a fashion show. Invite the wider community to see your fabulous designs, and don’t forget to charge an entry fee
Enjoy an evening with friends, recycle your unwanted clothes and revitalise your own wardrobe at the same time. Everyone wins!
The Ten Stores Challenge route will combine iconic and discovery brands from the world of fashion, jewellery, furniture, home and the arts. Each store will provide walkers with exclusive treats and experiences along the way to ensure you have an unforgettable day.
Here are the stores that signed up in 2014.
There are 8 million children confined to orphanages around the world, with no love, no protection and no future. Yet over 80% of these children have at least one living parent.
We believe all children deserve the love, support and protection of a family.
Hope and Homes for Children work in some of the most challenging environments around the world to put in place the support services that families need to stay together and provide their children with the love and protection they deserve.
With your help we can support vulnerable families, break the cycle of poverty, and end the need for orphanages.
